If you leave your employer, your Charitable Savings Account (CSA) funds remain dedicated to charitable giving and cannot be returned to you or your employer as cash.
What Happens When Employment Ends?
- Payroll deductions stop upon separation from your employer
- No additional contributions will be made through payroll
- Any pending employer match or giving bonus may be forfeited, depending on your company’s program rules
- Funds already contributed remain available for charitable giving
What Happens to My Account Balance?
The funds in your account belong to you for charitable purposes and remain irrevocably committed to charity. These funds cannot be withdrawn or refunded.
To continue managing and granting funds to nonprofits, your remaining balance can be transferred to an individual Charitable Savings Account.
How Do I Transfer My Account?
If you leave your employer and would like to continue using your charitable funds, please contact Support at support@givinga.org for assistance with transferring your balance to an individual account.
